Snippets is used by a large number of developers who code in different languages. And they always wanted an ability to save their snippets too. To be honest, support for custom syntax highlights was the most popular feature request. And today we are publishing version 1.2 with this feature.
As part of this feature, we introduce a new format for custom highlights having an extension ".snippetshl". In fact, syntax file is a XML document with most common properties for syntax highlighting: keywords, string symbols etc.
Note: For those who are familiar with mac development, any highlight XML is a valid Apple property list.
We have created a repository at Github with ".snippetshl" files that you can download and use. Some of them were bundled into application but we decided to remove them from default installation. Please find them in repository and install by downloading and double-clicking.
Note: Feel free to make your own syntax files and we will publish them upon your pull or email request.
Besides custom syntax highlights, the new update has many features and improvements over previous version. Go update guys or download Snippets if you haven't tried it yet!
