You might have heard that one of the most popular services for snippet sharing — Snipplr — has been acquired by Envato who run many great web sites including Mac.AppStorm and tuts+ network.

One of the most requested features for Snippets application was an ability to use Dropbox for syncing between computers and sharing snippets between co-workers. After releasing 1.0 we were working hard on both of these features. And now we are ready to go with release 1.1.

We have been working on Snippets for a long time. We had worked in private on the Snippets core for some months, then we published our first public alpha version on last October 2009. And now, after the app has been in development for about one year, we believe it is the time to release version 1.0.

Yes we are so excited: finally, this is our LAUNCH!

How to enable ‘New Snippet With Selection’ service

What do you do when you browse the web and meet a brilliant code snippet? A good idea would be to store it quickly so you can find it later.

Snippets application helps you do just that and provides a number of ways to add new code into the Library. First, you can drag & drop the text content right into the Snippets main window. Next, you can drag & drop right into the application Dock icon. And finally, Snippets application is fully integrated with Mac OS X Services.
